John Ecke

As Vice President of Brand and Product Development, John leads the overall management of the group’s media brands that cater to the financial services, government and healthcare markets – Advanced Trading, Bank Systems & Technology, Insurance & Technology, Wall Street & Technology, InformationWeek Government, and InformationWeek Healthcare.  In addition to creating the business strategy for the vertical markets we operate in, John manages the development and execution of the products and services we offer in each segment – across digital, event, print and custom media platforms.
 
John is media veteran with over 15 years experience creating, managing, and growing leading B2B media brands.  He joined UBM Techweb in 1997 as a sales executive on Wall Street & Technology where two years later he took on the role of Publisher. In the spring of 2005 John co-founded  Advanced Trading – a brand that caters to the buy-side trading community. He took on the role of Group Publisher of Techweb’s Financial Technology Network in 2007.  In 2009 John moved into his current role when he expanded his responsibilities to take on the build out of InformationWeek’s vertical businesses in the government and healthcare segments.
 
He holds a B.A. in International Business from Hofstra University and resides in New York with his wife and two children.
